Stay in Jerusalem overnight. Wonder the Old City, and the Souq at night. It's as simple as that. Tour groups leave. Most shops that sell souvenirs are closed, or the shop owners are tired enough and tamed. We've walked into an little store where the shopkeeper was restoring old coins. Sat down and had a conversation. I've asked him if I could take his photo. It was a great connection with an interesting person. A connection that spanned languages and generations.
When you come back from Paris, you bring a photo of the Eiffel Tower. When you come back from Petra, you bring a photo of the Al Khazneh. When you come back from Jerusalem, you bring back a photo of the Western Wall. You know everybody has taken one, so you do the best you can. But you do bring one back. Here's mine.
What a great #santacruz2012 #photowalk yesterday! It actually has started at the Henrey Cowell Park, in the Santa Cruz mountains, about 30 min from the beach. We've walked around the redwoods park ... I was late, but was able to join a few folks from the tail end of the group. Some were photographing mushrooms ... sounded like a god idea. +Barry Blanchard , thank you for organizing! Great to see familiar faces, great to meet folks who's names have become familiar through the interactions here on Google+, and on Facebook.
